- Days in the Dioceses (DID) is a special program held before the main events of World Youth Day Seoul 2027. During this time, local dioceses throughout Korea — including the Archdiocese of Daegu — will warmly welcome young participants from around the world and share the faith, culture, and spirit of the local Church in Korea. It is a special time that marks the beginning of the journey toward WYD Seoul 2027. When will it take place? WYD Daegu 2027 DID : July 29 (Thu) – August 2 (Mon), 2027 The DID program will take place over 4 nights and 5 days in late July 2027, immediately before the main events of WYD Seoul 2027.
- During DID, participants will have the opportunity to experience the culture, nature, history, religion, and heritage of the Archdiocese of Daegu in various ways. In particular, through the homestay program, pilgrims will stay with local Catholic families and enjoy meaningful encounters and fellowship within the local community. International participants of all ages may apply for the homestay program. The Archdiocese of Daegu plans to welcome approximately 7,000 young pilgrims from around the world to pray together, share cultures, witness to the faith, and encounter the living Christ together. Through DID, we also hope to bring renewed vitality to youth and young adult ministry in the Archdiocese of Daegu.
- Within the journey toward WYD Seoul 2027, DID is an important occasion in which local Churches welcome young people, introduce the diverse culture and spirit of Korea, and mark the beginning of the overall WYD experience. At the same time, DID also serves as an important opportunity to renew and revitalize youth and young adult ministry in the Korean Church. If WYD Seoul 2027 is a pastoral journey toward a younger and more vibrant Church, DID is the starting point where each local Church accompanies young people in their journey of faith and growth.
- No! Although it is called “World Youth Day,” people of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to participate, regardless of religion. The main participants are generally young people between the ages of 15 and 39, but WYD is open to everyone with a youthful spirit. Middle and high school students, persons with disabilities, and even those who are not Catholic are all encouraged to take part. However, minors must have parental consent to participate. Registration for the event is expected to begin as early as June 1, 2026.
